Restaurant Review: Duffy's Sports Grill...Melbourne Florida
No one would deny Duffy's is a sports bar...the place is loaded with
spprts helmets, pictures and memorobilia...some very cool stuff as well
(if your a sports fan). With any sports bar we come to expect certain
things....lots of large screen TV's...check. Cold beer that is easy to
get...check. A menu filled with sports bar favorites like burgers and
chicken wings...check. All that being said Duffy's is just an average
place to see a game...not your second choice (to having live event
tickets). Duffy's is a South Florida Chain...in fact the only Duffy's
above Port St Lucie is in Melboure.
The food is standard sports bar...the burgers and sandwiches are
OK...the wings...not so much. Too much breading and somewhat overcooked.
The prices are higher then the compitition...10 wings for $9.99...not
outragious...but a couple of bucks more then other simililar sports
bars.
One thing I do dislike is calling a non-special a special. In this
case it is Duffy's "Happy Hour" that claims 2 for 1 beer from 4pm to
close. They charge $5 for a regular beer...then give you two of them for
the $5. Problem is virtually every bar in town charges $2.50 or less
for the same brands (Bud, Miller, Mich, etc...) so the "charge you
double and give it to you at half price" rule applies here.
If you are looking for a place to watch a big game and your TV blows
up Duffy's will work just fine for you...if you are looking for a great
place to hang out with friends for a happy hour or a great gathering
joint...you can find better.
